Tokaiya Ginpei (i.e. Taira Tomomori) is a role in Tokaiya no ba, the first part of act III of the play Yoshitsune senbon zakura. Around the time of the publication of this print, Kataoka Gadō II acted at the Chikugo Theatre. However, no matching actual performance of Tokaiya no ba is mentioned in the kabuki sources, so this portrayal might be a mitate.

Some impressions show Tenmaya Kihei’s seal ‘Tenki’ instead of the publisher’s Kinkadō-seal.
